An Interdisciplinary Approach

Statutory, Constitutional
& Contract Interpretation

Trademark Disputes

Our linguists and lawyers have pioneered the application of corpus linguistics to the interpretation of legal texts, such as statutes, constitutions, and contracts, to better answer questions of ambiguity and vagueness. Our research has been cited by federal and state courts around the country, including the

United States Supreme Court.

Applying survey and linguistic methods, our experts analyze a range of issues that arise in trademark disputes--such as the likelihood of consumer confusion, genericness, dilution, and secondary meaning.
